To This course is an introduction to the field of Strategic Management. It covers the key concepts and theories in the field and how they can be applied to real business situations.

The main objective is to learn how to formulate and implement successful strategies that grant competitive advantage to a firm, where a strategy is a plan that guides managerial decisions. Theoretical background is founded on the “resource-based view” of the firm and its complementarity to microeconomic theory, game theory and organizational theory.

Entry Requirements

Academic ability

Students are normally expected to achieve a minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA in engineering or a related discipline relevant for the proposed area of research, such as physics, computer science, applied mathematics or chemistry.

Language requirement

Students whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English.

Acceptable English qualifications include:
• IELTS (International English Language Testing System) 7.0 or Above
• TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) 107 or Above
• Pearson (Academic) 65 in all four components
• Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) with a grade B or 105 over all above

Students without any English qualificantion need to arrange an interview with program staff.
